The Memphis basketball stadium, built in 2004, had its naming rights purchased by FedEx, and they wanted a themed entertainment area in the stadium with interactive exhibits and brand engagement. Landor Associates designed the midway and I was engaged to help produce the content for the handful of media experiences. The main attraction was an interactive theater called the TimeCenter, where you entered the day of your birth, your favorite sport, favorite decade, and type of music you liked. Then, on 4 huge hi-definition screens, you received a 45 second presentation of iconic images, including celebrities born the same day as you, major events from your favored decade, sports stars and records set in that era, all along with a driving soundtrack and images of music legends from the timeframe. At the time it was the largest single purchase of photographic licenses from Getty Images.
